Christmas in Paris!
I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about vacations this year. I decided that next year I’m going to spread my wings and see more of the world. See, my last four vacations have been to Mexico. Don’t get me wrong, I love Mexico and I love going on vacations there. It’s super close and easy to get to, the weather is amazing and I always have an amazing stay thanks to Exceptional Villas. But it is becoming a bit repetitive and lots of my friends have been going further afield this year and it’s made me jealous. So I decided to mix things up. I was going to wait until next year, but why wait?! After all, Christmas is a great time to travel! Although I haven’t been on a vacation anywhere other than Mexico for years, I have travelled for work – not the same, but it’s enough to give me and idea where I’d like to go. Well, that idea was Paris. After going to Paris a few times this year for work and mostly sitting in conference rooms (quelle horreur!), I decided I needed to plan a fun-only trip leveraging the miles I’ve earned. Off to Paris I went with my friend Dee and her mom. We had beautiful weather for a couple of days in between the rain. Also great: I’ve never eaten so much duck. The entire trip we just kept quoting Jim Gaffigan, “We should eat something and then after, maybe we can get something to eat.” In addition to Paris, we ventured to the south to Avignon with a day trip to Arles before heading back to Paris for New Year’s.
